How Do Those People Get On The Field?

Have you ever found yourself doing wind sprints in preparation for your mad General Admission dash when the gates open at such festivals as The Great Went, It, or Bonnaroo? If so, and you know at least 9 other people, are at least 16 or have a fake ID, are capable of vigorous physical activity, have 3 days to blow, and don't care to watch the Superbowl...

Volunteer slots remain open to participate in pregame and halftime entertainment for Super Bowl XLII. The National Football League is seeking people who want to be on the field at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale when Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers perform at halftime during the Feb. 3 game. Others will watch performances by yet-to-be-announced acts before the game.

Participants must register as part of a group of 10 or more at superbowlcast.com. Those who register must be at least 16 years old, capable of vigorous physical activity and willing to attend three days of rehearsals.

Participants will not be in the stadium for the game. Petty is expected to spotlight hits that earned the Heartbreakers induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.
