Gathering of the Vibes Lineup Additions

Festival Gathering of The Vibes has announced some additions to their previously announced preliminary lineup. It takes place this year on August 9-12 at new/old home Seaside Park in Bridgeport, CT. The festival took place there in 1999 and 2000. The previous venue for this festival in upstate New York was known to have problems with the security force of bikers that call Indian Lookout Country Club home. The current GotV website states of this year's festival:

Thus we are returning to an even more spectacular setting this summer with newly reseeded fields, a refurbished ‘Casino’ building, and many more infrastructure improvements. The park has never looked so fine, and legendary showman PT Barnum, who donated the space to the city of Bridgeport in 1875, would be proud. We think he would be equally impressed with the lively, fun-filled, colorful event we joyfully conspire to host there.

One big change over the 1999-2000 Gatherings at Seaside Park is a feature we've all come to love in recent years: YES, there will be car-side camping! Along with flush toilets, showers, playgrounds, a skate park, and over a mile of pristine beach within a short walk, this is shaping up to be the ideal space for our annual 'family reunion.' We look forward to seeing you there - it truly wouldn't be the same without you!

George Clinton and P-Funk and Deep Banana Blackout will anchor a tribute to James Brown, while Dark Star Orchestra will open the festival on August 9---the twelfth anniversary of Jerry Garcia’s passing---with a two-set tribute to the Grateful Dead leader.
